Alcatraz + Angel Island: can I choose the order?

Only one free day in SF and considering the combo. I see two morning departures with opposite island order. Is the order tied to the departure/group, or can you decide on the day which island to do first?

The order is tied to the departure group. The 9:35 group does Angel Island first, then Alcatraz; the 9:40 group does Alcatraz first, then Angel Island.
